El Gran Combo

Founded in 1962 by Rafael Ithier, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico is perhaps the longest running salsa group in existence, and arguably Puerto Rico’s most successful musical export. Andy Montanez, Pellin Rodriguez, Charlie Aponte, and Jerry Rivas are all alumni.
